Government Must Ensure That Wheat Is Sold At MSP: UP Farmers

Government Must Ensure That Wheat Is Sold At MSP: UP Farmers Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared a lockdown extension till May 3, 2020 earlier today. However, the ground issues are still far from being solved for some farmers in Uttar Pradesh. NDTV’s Alok Pandey talked to a few farmers near Barabanki’s Aseni Gram Panchayat, who opened up about how private players aren’t buying their crop at MSPs. The farmers are requesting government to intervene and make sure that the wheat is bought at the MSP (Maximum Selling Price) so that the farmers can survive this lockdown period. Talking about the lockdown, the farmers said that they support the Government of India for the decision and feel it is the right thing to do at this point of time.
