34 And Jesus, when he came out, saw much people, and was moved with compassion toward them, because they were as sheep not having a shepherd: and he began to teach them many things.
Mark 6:34 (KJV)
4 He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.
5 Get wisdom, get *understanding*: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6 Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get *understanding*.
Prov 4:4-7 (KJV)
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
Matt 13:4 (KJV)
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they *understand*.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not *understand*; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should *understand* with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Matt 13:13-15 (KJV)
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and *understandeth* it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
Matt 13:19 (KJV)
The answer to mans needs is all encompassed in the understanding of the word of God. In Mark 6:34, Jesus saw a deep need in the people and was moved with compassion. What did he do? He began teaching! Teaching is the key to bringing understanding! Once there is understanding of what is heard, faith has free course to flow!
After he had taught them, the people had faith for the bread and fish to be more than enough for them. They participated in the miracle quite unlike the situation where Jesus couldn’t there do any mighty miracle and marvelled at their unbelief. You will do well to note that when Jesus saw unbelief, he tackled it with *TEACHING*.
Now check out these scriptures and let light shine in your heart.
24 And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides] will be given to you who hear.
Mark 4:24 (AMP)
18 Be careful therefore how you listen. For to him who has [spiritual knowledge] will more be given; and from him who does not have [spiritual knowledge], even what he thinks and guesses and supposes that he has will be taken away.
Luke 8:18 (AMP)
When you hear, pay attention and strive for understanding. The measure of thought you put into what you hear will determine the fruits that would come forth. Simply put, the more effort you put into the listening process, the more assimilation and understanding you will have. This now unlocks the full potential of that word.
You now become unstoppable and as the word says, 15 For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
Matt 13:15 (KJV)
Understanding with the heart brings the miracle from the seed of the word. Be taught, pay rapt attention, meditate on the taught word and get understanding, then go forth and win!
Shalom!
