Win more clients by understanding how to work to a photography brief

Win more clients by understanding how to work to a photography brief For many professional photographers, working to a brief is nothing new. But for those just starting their professional journey, the concept of working to a brief might seem a little overwhelming and intimidating.

In this video, I’m going to explain what working to a brief means, show you some examples, and help you understand the process so that you can be prepared for any situation where working to a set commercial brief is necessary.

The key to working to a brief is knowing not only how to execute the guidelines, but also how to interpret them. To help our members practice these real-life skills, I recently provided them with a very specific advertising brief to execute. This gave them an opportunity to experience what it’s like to work to a set brief, interpret mood boards, and bring to life pre-determined concepts. Here you’ll see how some of our members came very close to achieving the desired results, while others didn’t quite get it right. I discuss some of the results, explaining what would typically be expected and how changing your mindset can prepare to best deliver what your client wants.
