Pilots and employees from major airlines in Germany took to the streets of Berlin on Thursday, to protest over job losses and pay cuts in the industry that they complain are occurring even as companies receive government aid.

Protesters rallied outside the Federal Ministry of Finance and marched all the way to the Bundestag carrying banners reading 'You fly on holiday, we fly out.'

Employees of EasyJet were also amongst those protesting after the British low cost carrier announced plans on Wednesday to halve its fleet of Berlin-based aircraft.

The action, organised by the UFO union and the Cockpit Association, comes as the employees of SunExpress, Germanwings and Tuifly are expressing concern about their fate, following the financial losses caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
