In this video Ms Akancha Srivastava- Founder of ‘Akancha Against Harassment’ shares simple 3 tips for strong passwords.

Often times, our passwords are very easy to guess cos we use things that are easy for us to remember. They are our family member or pet’s names, our date of birth etc. But these are very easy to hack. So we need to learn how to keep strong passwords. This is a basic internet hygiene that needs to be strictly followed.

First tip for keeping a strong passwords is that it should have combination of characters- small letters, capitals, special characters & numbers. You can generate these scrambled passwords from many sites but when you use it on your account, please change some characters there.

Second tip amongst 3 tips for strong passwords is that you can use the first letters of your favourite song or poem & create a super strong password. You can also similarly use the letters of your favorite poems converted as numbers. If you forget them, you can always write it out & figure again! This is your super-secret strong password!

Third tip amongst 3 tips for strong passwords is to always enable 2 step/ 2 factor authentication. Having a combination of password plus sms/ email sign in also alerts you if someone is trying to hack into your accounts but hopefully you will have access to atleast one option which is in your control.

Passwords are like toothbrushes, do not share them & change often!
