Filmed between 2018-2020, the idea for the project began after the team behind the documentary were inspired by the stories of UK hitmaker Steel Banglez.
The documentary follows artists who’ve turned their troubles and dreams into art, and their stories are told through the lens of with a warm, grainy 16mm aesthetic. “I wanted to create more of an atmosphere to reflect what I felt when I was immersed in this world and what I felt like the essence of rap was,” says Going In’s director Oliver Jennings.
