Starting a new achievement run let's play as The Papal States. In this campaign we're going for the Holy Trinity Achievement, wherein we need to have the Livonian Order, Teutonic Order, and The Knights all as marches. Starting in the heart of Italy, led by a succession of Popes, we must work to secure alliances, join the HRE, expand in the Genoa and Venice trade nodes while managing our aggressive expansion as we take high development provinces from our neighbours. France and the Ottomans are serious threats, and Austria will soon need to be betrayed. We benefit from the excommunication ability, as well as the potential for Battle Pope generals.
