The point here is to find an quick and easy solution for common issues related with G-Shock. Especially from the vintage category.
Here is an example of a burnt up lcd background. Noted that, this is not polariser related issue. Just a thin layer behind that lcd panel that give color hue to the display and in this case also helps with the contrast since it seems to have a reflective properties to it.
This issue usually occur after long abuse under direct sunlight. My guess, the glue that sticks the thin layer to the lcd starts to flake after years of receiving sunlight.
Anyway, about the scratch marks. That could be prevented if you really take your time with the by being gentle. Also if that really concern you, just remove the back polariser layer and replace that to a new one.
This could happen to any digital G-Shock with background color accents. It is just a matter of time.
Share your thoughts and idea in the comment section and maybe I’ll feature them in future video.
