Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman gone bonkers on Anderson Cooper during Vegas casinos interview The mayor of Las Vegas, Carolyn Goodman was CNN's Anderson Cooper show to talk reopening casinos amidst the lockdown necessitated by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Anderson Cooper: You're talking about encouraging hundreds of thousands of people to come to Las Vegas ... smoking, drinking, touching slot machines, breathing circulated air, doesn't that sound like a virus petri dish?!

Las Vegas Mayor: It sounds like you're being an alarmist!

The mayor has been openly advocating for Vegas casinos and hotels to open even as she openly admits that she doesn't know how to do it openly. According to Mayor Goodman, it is up to the businesses to do figure that out.

On being shown a graphic depicting of the spread of coronavirus in a restaurant in China

Cooper: Chinese researchers have shown how this virus spread

Mayor Goodman: "This isn't China, this is Las Vegas."

To which Anderson Cooper exclaims:: "Wow, that's really ignorant. That's an ignorant, ignorant statement. That's a restaurant, yes in China, but they are human beings too.

And this exchange on who might get infected if the casinos were opened,

Anderson Cooper: It’s the (casino) workers who could become infected.”

Las Vegas Mayor: “You’re talking disease. I’m talking life and living.”

AC: “Okay, that makes no sense.”
