Survey shows many who lost jobs during MCO are self-employed PUTRAJAYA: A survey has found that 46.6 per cent of self-employed respondents had reported losing their jobs following Covid-19 and the Movement Control Order (MCO) being enforced. The findings of the survey also showed that the agriculture and services sectors recorded the highest percentage of job losses as compared to other sectors. Chief Statistician Malaysia Datuk Seri Dr. Mohd Uzir Mahidin said the findings of the special survey showed that the agriculture and services sectors recorded the highest percentage of job losses as compared to other sectors due to Covid-19, with 21.9 per cent and 15.0 per cent respectively. “For the agriculture sector, 33.0 per cent of workers in the fisheries sub-sector reported job losses whilst 21.1 per cent in agriculture & plantation.
