The Impact of Meat Plant Closures - From Farm To Consumer

This week several meat processing plants were forced to close due to employee coronavirus infection. Then came the biggie- Smithfield announced Easter Sunday the indefinite closure of its Sioux Falls pork plant. The facility processes about 5% of the nation’s hog production. That’s 550 farms with nowhere to send their fattened hogs. Damian Mason explains what that might mean for consumers and farmers.
