A Great Test to See If What You Want to Say Will Sound Controlling

A Great Test to See If What You Want to Say Will Sound Controlling Ladies,
A great test to decide if what you want to say to your man may sound controlling or disrespectful to him is this:

1. Picture someone in your life who tends to be overbearing toward you.
2. Imagine this person saying what you want to say using the words you want to use, the facial expressions and body language you want to use, and the tone of voice you plan to use.
3. Consider if you would welcome this approach from that person?

Or picture your man saying the same thing in the same way to you. Would it offend you?

CONTROLLING PEOPLE WERE MY GREATEST PET PEAVE

It's ironic, but nothing used to upset me more than for someone else to try to control me back when I was so consumed with trying to control Greg and other people.

I would take great offense, "How DARE she???!?!" "Who does he think he is?!?!"

Crazy, right? I seriously couldn't see that I was doing the same thing to Greg or recognize that he would feel just as repelled by me as I felt when people treated me that way.

I am beyond thankful that the Lord opened my eyes to how much damage I did to our marriage. It was a difficult path toward healing but God makes it possible.

It's worth it just to have right thinking in our minds and to have God, others, and self in the right place in our lives. If we are going to have healing in our relationships, it will start with God's healing in us.

The ABC’s of Salvation

A = Admit you are a sinner and you can’t be perfect and holy enough in God’s eyes to be right with Him on your own. Turn away from your sin to God. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Rom. 3:23

B = Believe that Jesus died on your behalf to pay the price for your sin and to give you a way to be right with God – to be forgiven. “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus, our Lord.” Rom. 6:23

C = Confess that Jesus is your Lord – this means, Jesus is now your Master and you live your life for Him and His glory rather than for yourself. You say it out loud to others and you live it from now on. “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with your heart you believe and are justified, and with your mouth you confess and are saved.” Rom. 10:9-10
