Spain: Institute says it made mattress eliminating COVID-19 from its surface

The European Sleep Care Institute (ESCI) started the production of mattresses which, as it claims, eliminate the viral load of the COVID-19, as footage filmed on Monday in L'Alcudia shows.

A special treatment known as virucide is applied to the surface. The material, according to its creators, destroys coronavirus droplets in less than four hours.

"If we apply the well-known virucides on the market, such as methanol, diluted bleach, etc., we would spoil the product, which is why these treatments, what they do is sanitise products that cannot be washed," said Tomas Zamora, the head of Innovation at the ESCI.

This product is designed for hotels, holiday apartments or other places where there is a continuous flow of people sleeping on the same mattresses.
